Travel with Grandchildren
It is generally more complicated and maybe less rewarding to travel with babies or really young children. But to travel with the older grandchildren can be a real adventure - both for you and them! You can take them camping around the UK, city breaks in Europe, visit museums and castles (don't forget to look at our Days Out section!), beach holidays or why not even skiing! Just jumping on the bus to your own city centre for an ice cream or visiting a local theatre is also great fun. There are no rules or limitations to what you can do - whatever suits you and your glorious grandchildren!
General tips
Preparation
The child's age, where you are going and how long you are planning to be away, naturally have importance for how to plan and prepare your trip. It is a good idea to discuss your destination in advance and maybe do some joint research. You can read books, search the internet and use travel guides. Another idea is to start a diary together with the children where they can record their experiences, photos, drawings etc. Here on Glorious Grandchildren you can do this easily by creating a memory book - this will certainly make your trip unforgettable!
Checklist
To make your trip less complicated and your life easier once you have reached your destination, it is a good idea to do a checklist so you don't forget something essential. In most places you can buy most things, but this might steal valuable time and effort on your holiday.
